About Kling 2.6 Motion Control
Kling 2.6 Motion Control is Kuaishou's motion-transfer mode in the Kling 2.6 generation. You supply a character image and a reference video, and the character performs the movement from that clip. It targets dance, martial arts and gesture work where a written prompt cannot specify the motion precisely. It is the earlier of the two motion-control models, with 720p and 1080p output.
Where it works well
- Takes full-body movement from a reference clip, so choreography does not depend on how well a prompt describes it.
- Kuaishou says the 2.6 release improved fast, intricate actions such as martial arts and dance, and hand movement with fewer artifacts.
- Facial expression and lip movement in the reference carry over to the animated character.
- The text prompt can still adjust scene details and styling while the reference clip drives motion.
When to choose another model
- It is a transfer tool, not a prompt-only generator: without a character image and a reference clip it has nothing to work from.
- Kling 3.0 Motion Control is the newer option when you want the later generation's character handling.

Use cases
Dance and choreography clips
Film a dancer once, then apply that performance to an illustrated or stylized character without re-animating each frame.
Product mascots
Give a brand mascot image a repeatable set of gestures by recording the movement yourself and transferring it.
Previsualization
Test how a stunt or blocking idea reads on a character before committing to a full production shoot.
Prompt examples
Character image: a cartoon fox in a red jacket. Reference video: a person doing a slow tai chi form. Keep the studio background plain and the lighting soft.
Apply the dance in the reference clip to this anime-style singer, with a neon city street behind her.
Transfer the wave and shrug from the reference video to this robot mascot, keeping its metallic finish.
FAQ
What inputs does Kling 2.6 Motion Control need?
A character image and a reference video that contains the movement to copy. A text prompt is optional guidance for the scene and styling. Kuaishou describes reference clips of roughly 3 to 30 seconds for this feature in the 2.6 generation.
Which resolutions can I choose?
720p and 1080p. Pick 720p for checking whether the movement transfers well, then render the final at 1080p once the reference clip and character image work together.
How is it different from Kling 3.0 Motion Control?
Both transfer motion from a reference clip onto a character image. This one belongs to the 2.6 generation; the 3.0 version belongs to the newer generation. Test the same image and clip on both if movement quality matters for your project.
Does it generate video from text alone?
No. It only does motion control, which needs a character image and a reference clip to work from. For text-to-video from a prompt alone, use a general Kling video model instead.
How much does Kling 2.6 Motion Control cost?
On TokenLab, Kling 2.6 Motion Control costs $0.07-$0.112 per second. The pricing table above shows the full breakdown. Rates depend on the billing unit, specification, and usage. Compare matching conditions in the model's detailed pricing; a single rate does not determine the total cost.
